Plaid shirt dress

Happy Thursday! We’ve got some great little spring- summer dresses we’ve added to our online shop. This plaid shirt dress is one of those effortless pieces. It’s cinched in perfectly at the waist. I’m loving the midi length with button front showing just the right amount of leg.

How to wear it?  Pair it with a white sneaker and a denim jacket and keep it casual.

Or keep it super simple…we’ve styled it with some natural woven accessories.

Closet care – Sweaters

I’ve been wearing my sweaters on repeat all winter long, and now that spring is slowly coming our way.. I’m thinking of tackling my drawer of sweaters.

I don’t wash my knits as often as you would think. I usually try to get quite a few wears out of them before I wash them, especially my mohair and cashmere pieces. I tend to hand wash my delicate sweaters with a sweater (lingerie) wash.

Also a good tip is to wash the sweater inside out and try not to pull or stretch the knit when washing. It saves the sweater from pulling the fibres and pilling.

I like to lay them flat (so they don’t stretch) and let them dry overnight. Once they are dry I use my little Sweater shaver (I have a Conair defuzzer)  and just touch up any little areas that have a little extra fluff.

Next step.. I fold my sweaters rather than hang them to keep them from stretching out of shape. I also love to colour block my knits in my drawers… makes it super easy to just go in find exactly the sweater I’m after.

Spring Blossoms & Dots

Happy Wednesday!

Today’s post is inspired by this super cute carmel polka dot dress from Indi & Cold. It’s such an effortless dress and one of my favourites this spring. The last few days haven’t felt quite as springy outside.. so I’m enjoying a little springy vibe inside my house. My sweet neighbour gave me some branches last week and I’ve been patiently waiting for them to bloom. Well guess what? This week they are starting to pop open. How appropriate on Earth Day!

To layer this dress up for inside… keep it cozy with a simple neutral cardigan.  Wearing it outside.. pair it with your go-to denim jacket and slip into comfy sandals. I know we are all counting down the days for lovely outside outfits again. Can’t wait.

Shop B Cutouts

Shop B doll & clothes

Hello Lovelies! I hope everyone is keeping well. I find during this time…. I’m enjoying getting creative when the mood strikes…it gives me a calming feeling.

I was sketching the other day and thinking about when I was a kid I absolutely LOVED to sit down and play with paper dolls. In fact.. I would trace the paper doll and make outfits and colour and cutout.

So I thought… maybe somebody else or their kids might love to do this too, especially if you are looking for something to do.  I’ve sketched in black & white so you and the kids can colour and design your own patterns on silhouettes of clothes I have on the online shop.

Just hit the Pink link above and print off your own. (regular printer paper or card stock for a little more structure)  Hope you have some fun with it and I’d love to see your cute styles.
